Front and back view of Brennenstuhl worklamp
Front and back view of the work lamp, note the universal swivel & large clamp. The reverse side has a battery level indicator and behind the rubber cap is the charging connection as well as a USB socket for charging other devices.

Pros: Exceptionally bright light, several levels of intensity. Really strong and large clamp, rechargeable via conventional USB, IP65 rated for dust and water intrusion (very useful on a boat).

Cons: Perhaps the battery could last longer, although in fairness I do use it on full brightness all the time and it is now very well used. It is physically quite large.

Getting old is terrible, can´t hear, getting into awkward spaces is, well more awkward and the most annoying thing is when your eyesight inevitably begins to wane, there is never enough light available, hence this work lamp.

This lamp was bought to replace a very old and considerably inferior lamp that found its way to the bottom of the sea by accident, it was useful because it could hook onto things, but lacked the clamp of this model.

Work lamp clamped in place
The work lamp clamped in place, the light it shines I would say is on the colder end of the scale.

The Brennenstuhl lamp came highly recommended and looking at the company website you'll see they don't have a huge range of products, specializing in lamps, torches and some electrical items, this is a good sign, specialist in a specific area, the lamp is  engineered in Germany.

In use the lamp is lighter than its size would suggest, the base has a 360 degree swivel which makes life easy, able to angle the light to wherever its needed. There are two very similar models of this lamp, one has about 900 lumens of light, this one that I use is 3800 lumens, its super bright, the light can be adjusted with a scale on the back.

I suppose if I was going to nitpick, the light is physically quite big, this can make using it in smaller spaces difficult, this can often be overcome by using the clamp and shining the light at the work from a distance, but when you do not have that choice, it can be impossible to use in a very confined space, that is really my only gripe and, in all honesty it is a very minor issue for the amount of light the light gives, the clamp is very strong even though its a composite of some sort, it never gives the feeling of anything but solidity.

Conclusion

I cot do my job without a worklight like this, the clamp is so useful for keeping both hands free, the brightness and water resistance make this a top buy. When  I was writing this review the lamps was on charge, I could not be completely certain the original charging lead was being used, but it was quite short, so could be inconvenient, especially when charging in a vehicle or boat.
